Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Restory ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect


1.1 Photos and Images

When you use our restoration features, you select photos from your device's photo library or camera. These photos are sent via encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our secure backend servers for AI processing. Photos are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers. The processed result is returned directly to your device, where it is stored locally. By initiating a photo restoration or enhancement, you consent to your photo being transmitted to our servers and processed by third-party AI services as described in this policy.


1.2 Face Data


Important Notice About Face Data:


Restory uses artificial intelligence to enhance and restore photographs, including features that specifically process facial areas in photos ("Face Data"). Here is how we handle Face Data:


What Face Data We Collect:

  • When you use features like "Restore Faces," "Colorize," "Enhance," or "Bring to Life," our AI analyzes facial regions within your photos to improve clarity, add color, enhance details, or generate animations.
  • The Face Data processed includes: facial features (eyes, nose, mouth), skin texture, facial contours, and facial expressions visible in the photograph.
  • We do NOT collect biometric identifiers. Our AI does not identify individuals or create facial recognition templates.

    • How We Use Face Data:

  • Face Data is used EXCLUSIVELY for the purpose of enhancing and restoring your photographs.
  • Our AI applies improvements such as: sharpening facial details, removing blur, restoring damaged areas, adding realistic colorization, and creating natural animations.
  • Face Data is processed automatically by our AI systems without human review.

    • Face Data Sharing:

  • Face Data is NOT shared with any third parties for their own purposes such as advertising, profiling, or facial recognition.
  • Face Data is transmitted to and processed by the following third-party services acting as data processors under our instruction:

    • - Vercel: Provides the cloud infrastructure that hosts our backend API. Photos pass through Vercel's servers during processing but are not stored persistently.

    - Replicate: Provides the AI models that perform the actual photo enhancement and restoration. Photos are sent to Replicate's API for real-time AI inference. Replicate processes images transiently and does not retain input or output data after processing is complete, in accordance with their data processing terms.

  • These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and process it only according to our instructions.
  • User Consent: By tapping any processing button (e.g., "Restore," "Colorize," "Enhance"), you explicitly consent to your photo being sent to these third-party services for processing.

    • Face Data Storage and Retention:

  • Face Data is processed in real-time and is NOT stored persistently on any server.
  • Our backend servers (Vercel) process photos in memory and do not write them to disk or any database.
  • Replicate processes photos transiently during AI inference and does not retain input images or output results after the processing request is completed.
  • Processed results are returned directly to your device and stored only in your device's local storage.
  • We do NOT retain any Face Data after processing is complete.
  • We do NOT create databases of faces or facial features.

    • 1.3 Device and Usage Information

    We collect:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App usage statistics (features used, session duration)
  • Crash reports and performance data
  • Language and region settings

    • 1.4 Subscription Information

    If you subscribe to Restory Pro, we collect:

  • Subscription status and plan type
  • Purchase history (managed by Apple through the App Store)

    • We do NOT have access to your payment information (credit card, bank details). All payments are processed securely by Apple.

    4. App Tracking Transparency


    We request your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites. You can change this permission at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy > Tracking.

  • Photos are processed on secure, access-controlled servers
  • Automatic deletion of processed photos within 24 hours
  • No human review of your photos
  • Photos are processed in memory and never written to persistent storage on our servers
